Hindu women to contest in Pakistan polls

Dr. Saveera Prakash is the first Hindu woman to file a nomination for the upcoming National Assembly elections in Pakistan. Saveera Prakash, who hails from Buner district, graduated from Abbottabad International Medical College in 2022. Saveera Prakash is a medical graduate and her family has strong roots in the fields of medicine and public service.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a new order to promote the women’s establishment, according to which women like Saveera Prakash will fill at least 5% of the seats.

Saveera Prakash’s political hopes are not just on the ruling establishment, but also on issues like women’s rights, community health, and educational development. Saveera Prakash has filed her nomination papers from Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the general elections to be held on 8 February 2024 in Pakistan. Saveera Prakash is contesting the elections on the ticket of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Saveera Prakash’s candidacy has gained support among local leaders and social media influencers of Pakistan, with Saveera Prakash being seen as a symbol of progress and change in pakistan.
