Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the leader of Kuwait has tragically passed away at the age of 86. After taking office in 2020, Sheikh Nawaf had previously visited the United States for health reasons and was hospitalized with an undisclosed illness in November.
Following the demise of his predecessor, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Sheikh Nawaf was sworn in as Emir, gaining recognition for his diplomatic skills and peace efforts.
Now, attention turns to Sheikh Meshaal Al Ahmed Al Jaber, recognized as the world’s oldest crown prince, who is in line to assume leadership in Kuwait.
With a population of about 4.2 million people, Kuwait has the world’s sixth-largest oil reserves and has been a staunch ally of the United States since ousting Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi forces in the 1991 Gulf War.
