Turning Point The Hindu side has achieved a major victory in the Gyanvapi Masjid case, making it possible to organize the puja.Worship that was stopped in 1993 has now been allowed again.
The big decision of Varanasi Court on Gyanvapi, got the right to worship in Vyas ji’s Tay Khana. Tay Khana was closed for 31 years, and Varanasi Court’s order to the district administration was asked to make arrangements for worship within 7 days.
Story of Gyanvapi
In August 2021, five Hindu women filed a case in which they claimed that the Gyanvapi Mosque was built on a temple.
A commission is appointed by the court which surveys the mosque and comes to light with controversial issues regarding the Shivling or fountain.
In 2022, the Supreme Court transferred the hearing of the case to the District Judge, whereby the District Judge has the authority to decide preliminary aspects.
In September 2022, the mosque committee approaches the Varanasi District and Sessions Courts and files a prayer.
The case is still awaiting preliminary aspects and the Supreme Court is expected to take a decision on intervening in this particular case.
